I recently came across a feed on social media that showed some local artists decided to “Yarn Bomb” trees and benches and other things in downtown McKinney. I told the hubby we def needed to go check it out! As soon as we got to downtown McKinney, we realized that they were having a fair with local artists in stalls…even better!! First, we met my sis for brunch and hit up the The Yard. We started with the waffles fries smothered in queso, pulled pork, cojita cheese and jalapeños. Sooooo dayum good! The Bloody Mary’s were strong and spicy 🌶 and the day was beautiful on their big patio. For entrees, I had the crispy chicken sammie with pimento cheese and peppers and a side of the garlic green beans and the hubs got the nachos (they were HUGE) with queso and pulled pork. Next, I ordered the Watermelonade consisting of Grey Goose Watermelon Basil Vodka, Lime, St-Germain, Watermelon, Mint Simple Syrup. Very refreshing and STRONG 💪 . Everything was delish and we were stuffed! We decided to walk around, let our tummies rest, and check out the art. So many talented folks from word working, jewelry, photography, painting and various other crafts. We also stumbled into a cool antique shop and picked up a nifty vintage bourbon 🥃 decanter. We always stop at the Spice & Tea Merchants to grab their Olive Texas Ranch roasted garlic olive oil. So yummy for cooking vegetable and even eggs! Our last stop happened to be at a jewelry stall where we met Heather from Modern Artifacts and her gorgeous pieces! She explained to us about her jewelry making journey and how she learned metal work in high school and combined her archeology roots to inspire her work. I got a gorgeous mini vessel necklace and turquoise evil eye earrings. Our day in dt McKinney quickly came to a close and on our way home, we picked the kiddos up the requested Chick-fil-A late lunch. Now off to nap the afternoon away before tonight. Ciao!
